The Discalced Carmelite Secular Order (OCDS), lay members of the Carmelite Order, founded by St. Teresa of Avila (and includes St. John of the Cross and St. Therese of Lisieux) invites those faithful, who have a desire to deepen their prayer and spiritual life through prayer and community, to visit a monthly meeting. There are many communities in Maryland, including one that meets in Chestertown the 3rd Saturday morning of each month, and one that meets in Essex, the 3rd Sunday of each month.
