Food Pantry - Thank you to all who assisted at Haven Ministries monthly Food Pantries Fri., Sept 20th. It was great to see all the youth that came to help. There is no Food Pantry in Nov. due to the Feed-a Family program. 192 people were served at both Pantry locations in Stevensville and Centreville. The folks who received several weeks worth of food went back and fed their families of 499 people total. Visitors to the food pantries received chicken, gr beef, fresh local produce, canned food, pasta, milk, breads and pastries. There are many volunteer openings available from Jan. 2020, through the winter, 3rd Fri of the month .Go to haven-ministries.org, Get Help, Food Pantries, SignUp Genius (Safe Harbor). If you know anyone in need of food, please share information about the monthly Food Pantry. Homeless Shelter - Opening Oct 1st at KIUMC. Our church will again have 4 weeks to provide volunteers, beginning in Nov. The sign up sheets for dinner, lunch and 6 pm to midnight volunteers will be posted as soon as our dates are assigned. Please consider a 6 - midnight shift if you are able. Two people are needed for the shift and at least one must be female, at least 18 yrs old, with full names provided for background checks. These volunteers eat with the guests and dinner volunteers, helping if needed, and then provide fellowship by playing games, puzzles, watching TV with the guests, and staying until the paid staff arrive at midnight. The guests are always so grateful for this compassionate care from our volunteers. Golf Tournament - thanks to those who participated in this fundraiser by volunteering time, sponsoring donations or playing golf. We had parishioners who organized this event and a team who won "1st place" in the tournament! There was even a moment of silence for our Fr. Paul Campbell, who played last year. Haven Ministries has grown from a community outreach program 16 years ago to a multi-faceted ministry.
