Many thanks to all our parishioners who have donated time, talent and treasure to help the needy in our Community this past year. Despite the "busy" time of year, several St. Christopher's parishioners found time to volunteer to help at the shelter Dec. 16th to Dec. 22nd, Dec. 25th and Dec. 28th: staying from 6 to midnight, and preparing and serving delicious healthy meals, and bringing breakfast and lunch supplies, to the shelter guests. Thank you to those who also sent extra surprises to the shelter like gift cards and presents for the guests. It is hard to be in a shelter, especially during the holidays, and even harder if you have kids. And yet you all made it a very special week. The guests there are so appreciative! The shelter was open on Christmas Day. Several of our parishioners gave up time in their day to just sit and visit with the shelter guests and provide fellowship and treats! Thank you also to the many volunteers who gave up their Friday night, Dec. 21st, to work at the monthly Food Pantries in Stevensville and Centreville. Over 150 families were provided fresh meat, produce, baked goods and non perishable food! "True joy, happiness and inner peace come from giving of ourselves to others. A happy life is a life for others." (Henri Nouwen) Wishing everyone blessings in the New Year.
