Thank you for your overwhelming response to the 2nd collection for Haven Ministries!! Your generosity will help feed, clothe, shelter and train the needy in our Community to return to independent living. Thank you to everyone who has been preparing meals for the shelter and to the many volunteers that have signed up to help at the Shelter this winter season. We truly need you! And thanks to everyone who is continuing to bring winter shelter donations each week during this month of Nov. when we remember the hungry and homeless. You have exemplified what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ in caring for his people. Remember the words of St. Theresa of Calcutta"... it's doing small things with great love." And an additional note of thanks to all who participated, in any way, with the Artisan Fair on Sat. Nov. 10 in our Hall. It was a big success. Needs for the Shelter (put in marked Haven Ministries "house" in Hall) - 8 oz coffee cups, disposable plastic food gloves, tall 13 gal trash bags, Lysol spray disinfectant, napkins, tissues, plastic ware, heavy chinet plates, quart and gallon baggies, pillows, Men's flannel PJ bottoms and thermal underwear (L, XL, XXL), Women's PJs and thermal underwear (M, L, XL) and $5 gift cards to Burger King, Hardees, McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts. There are currently 3 adults & 5 kids at the shelter. The CM hopes to have housing for the family soon. Our church will be staffing the shelter beginning Sun, Nov. 18th. By your generosity & compassion, we can together transform homelessness and begin to restore dignity to all our neighbors in need!
